Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery. You’ll conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families while coordinating with the medical team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Requirements include RN license, BLS, and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing; experience in acute care settings is preferred. Night shifts, full-time schedule, and a supportive environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Assess patients across physiological, psychological and sociocultural factors.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans based on standards.
• Administer medications safely per orders and monitor for reactions.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, meds and self-care.
• Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care.
• Document care activities and outcomes accurately in the chart.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
