Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery in its 18-bed Women’s Services Unit, including a Level 2B nursery, an 8-bed Mother Baby Unit and a 5-bed Labor & Delivery unit.

The unit handles about 50 deliveries per month with a lower C-section rate, offering cross-training and a self-scheduling app to support flexible work arrangements. Night shifts (7p–7a) with rotating weekends are required.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or compact RN license.
• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS and PALS within six months.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

Schedule: 3x12s, night shift (7p-7a). Rotating weekends and holidays required.

Join our team in a 18-bed Women's Services Unit featuring a Level 2B nursery with 6 beds, 8 bed Mother Baby Unit and 5 bed Labor and delivery unit.. With an average of 50 deliveries per month and a below-average C-section rate, our unit provides comprehensive care for expectant mothers and newborns. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to promoting a positive birthing experience and ensuring the health and well-being of mothers and infants alike. You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in different areas of this department to gain experience. This department utilizes a self-scheduling application.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
