Job summary

Shriners Children’s Ohio has an opportunity for a full-time rotating shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Unit. You will provide direct patient care for children in the treatment of pediatric burns and craniofacial conditions.

This involves providing Med-Surg and ICU level of nursing care, with 12-hour shifts, on-call duties and every third weekend, rotating days and nights. You will lead and educate families, coordinate care, and collaborate across teams, with opportunities to

Qualifications

• BSN degree or in process.
• Ohio RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric and ICU experience preferred.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care and patient/family education.
• Provide direct Med-Surg/ICU level nursing care for pediatric patients.
• Support transitions of care in a family-centered environment.
• Act as preceptor and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

You will provide direct patient care for children in the treatment of pediatric burns and craniofacial conditions. This involves providing Med-Surg and ICU level of nursing care.Hours: This full-time position will work 12 hour shifts, plus on-call and every third weekend and will rotate days 12 weeks and nights 12 weeks to work 72 hours bi-weekly.Key Responsibilities:The Inpatient RN is responsible for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care in a collaborative, family-centered environment.The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.This position will provide leadership by acting as an informal and formal leader, preceptor and through quality improvement efforts.Required Qualifications:BSN degree or in processOhio RN LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationPreferred Qualifications:2+ years bedside RN experience (will consider new grads)Pediatric and ICU experiencePediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certificationCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
