Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking an Infusion RN to join our Oncology team, delivering chemotherapy and immunotherapy, patient education, triage calls, and comprehensive assessments in collaboration with physicians, navigators, and support staff.

You will float as needed, participate in performance improvement, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care across shifts. Michigan RN license and an associate degree are required; BLS-HCP and ONS/Chemo within 1 year preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Michigan RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS-HCP certification is required.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Chemo certification within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer plan-of-care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Float across departments to support staff and coverage needs.
• Coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial/spiritual support.
• Provide age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Participate in performance improvement and ongoing education.

Join a compassionate Oncology team where nursing is more than a job-it's a meaningful partnership with patients throughout their cancer journey. You'll provide specialized care through chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, patient education, telephone triage, and comprehensive assessments while collaborating closely with providers, navigators, case managers, social workers, radiation oncology, and palliative care teams. How you'll contribute

An Infusion RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
