Job summary

Lifepoint Health's UP Health System - Marquette location is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on nights in a 0.9 FTE, full-time schedule with 12-hour shifts. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available based on eligibility.

The staffing pool supports med/surg, neuro/ortho/peds, rehab, and cardiac units with opportunities to advance to ICU and ED after one year. MI-licensed RNs with ADN are encouraged to apply; BLS-HCP is required.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license required.
• Associate degree from accredited nursing program; bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living: hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Acts as advocate for patient physical and emotional well-being.

The staffing pool provides RN staffing coverage to our med/surg, neuro/ortho/peds, rehab, and cardiac units. Staffing pool nurses are exceptional nurses who easily adapt to change and can accommodate many different working environments. After one year working in the staffing pool, nurses can train to specialty units such as ICU and the ED. Staffing pool is extremely rewarding and offers a multitude of learning opportunities to enhance nursing skills and critical thinking. One year nursing experience preferred.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
