Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center in New Mexico is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit. This full-time, day-shift role offers a 3x12 schedule from 7a to 7p, with rotating weekends and holidays, and a sign-on bonus of up to $30,000 for eligible candidates.

You will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, perform assessments, administer medications and life-support therapies, monitor status, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and care teams.

Qualifications

• Current NM or Compact RN license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN); BSN preferred.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill patients using the nursing process.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and identify changing conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments and life-support as prescribed.
• Monitor, document and communicate patient status to the care team.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists and other staff.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in medical records.
• Advocate for patient and family well-being.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current New Mexico or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
