Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center is seeking an RN in the PACU to provide specialized postoperative care and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams. The role requires active RN licensure in NM or a Compact State and an ADN; BSN preferred. BLS is mandatory; ACLS/PALS/Handle with Care preferred with a 30-day deadline.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a current New Mexico or Compact State RN license and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school.
• Education: BSN preferred; Associates required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and Handle with Care preferred, but must have within 30 days of hire.

• Assesses and monitors patients recovering from anesthesia and sedation
• Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols
• Provides pain management and comfort measures
• Documents patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure safe patient transitions throughout the perioperative continuum
• Educates patients and families regarding postoperative care and discharge instructions
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of every patient

Our PACU team provides specialized care for patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. What we're looking for
