Job summary

Centerpoint - Georgetown, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Intensive Care Unit RN to join our 6-bed unit with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, providing critical care for seriously ill patients.

This full-time night shift offers a 3x12 schedule (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and a benefits package. Applicants should hold Kentucky RN license and an associate degree; ACLS/BLS/PALS within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky or compact state RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/Handle With Care required within stated timelines.
• KY RN license or compact licensure required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and other clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers and discharges.

The intensive care unit (ICU) is a 6-bed unit that provides specialized care for critically ill patients. The unit maintains a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure close monitoring, timely interventions, and high-quality patient care.

How you'll contribute

An Intensive Care Unit RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 10 days of hire
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 45 days of hire
• Handle With Care - within 30 days of hire
• Associates Degree in Nursing, required
• KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
