Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Hospital Supervisor RN to lead staffing on a 4 x 12-hour shift schedule (7–7), with weekend and holiday rotations, in Marquette, Michigan.

The role requires a Michigan RN license, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), and BLS-HCP; ACLS and PALS are preferred. Two years of supervisory experience is favored as you guide staff, ensure quality care, and support professional development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Michigan RN license.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing; master's preferred.
• BLS-HCP certification required.
• ACLS and PALS are preferred.
• Minimum supervisory experience preferred (2 years).

Responsibilities

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching and mentoring to staff.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services; facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures policy compliance and participates in performance evaluations.
• Leads handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

How you’ll contribute

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we’re looking for

• Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school (master’s preferred).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• 2 years of supervisory experience (preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred)
