Job summary

Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, WA, is seeking an RN House Supervisor for a full-time, night-shift role. You will oversee nursing staff, manage patient flow, and contribute to high-quality care with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will lead the team, coordinate care, and ensure adherence to standards while navigating multiple systems and maintaining excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Washington RN license (state license or compact)
• BLS certification required
• 2-3 years RN Emergency Department experience preferred
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to think critically, make decisive judgments and work with minimal supervision
• Able to work in a high-stress environment and quickly adapt to multiple software systems
• Excellent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English

Responsibilities

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on availability, census, acuity and workflow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem-solving.
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Evaluates quality of patient care and identifies issues affecting outcomes.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
• Performs role-specific duties including admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Ensures staff has equipment and supplies for safe care.
• Integrates evidence-based practices into protocols and operations.
• Promotes professional growth among staff.
• Initiates weekend case management and Utilization review as needed

You'll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient‑care innovator. This position provides off hour leadership and functions as resource person for staff members, assists in patient care and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.

• Supervises and mentors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Determines staffing level and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow.
• Provides direct patient care as needed.
• Floats between staff to assist with problem‑solving.
• May take patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and related services, and manages through established channels.
• Performs role‑specific duties as assigned, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers.
• Ensures staff has necessary equipment and supplies to provide safe, quality patient care.
• Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Initiates weekend case management, Utilization review screening, assists with D/C planning and swing intake.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Active Washington RN license (single‑state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
• BLS required
• 2‑ 3 years of RN Emergency Department experience preferred
• 1 year of relevant supervisory experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Must be able to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems
• Must be able to communicate with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English
