Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse-Hospice in O’Fallon, IL to deliver compassionate hospice care, from admission through discharge, under physician orders. The role includes planning, coordinating, and documenting patient care to meet individual needs while adhering to standards and regulations.

Qualifications include an Illinois RN license and a nursing degree (BSN preferred); BLS certification is required.

Pay Range:
$31.00 - $46.50
A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

The Registered Nurse-Hospice is responsible for the planning, coordinating, providing and documenting care for terminally ill patients from day of admission through day of discharge. Utilizing physicians' orders and professional skills, the Registered Nurse-Hospice develops and implements a hospice plan that meets each patient's specific needs and is in compliance with accrediting organization standards, federal and state regulations, reimbursement guidelines as well as the organization's policies and procedures.

Position Specifics

• Department: HSHS Home Care, Hospice Care
• Core Function: Nursing
• Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours, dayshift with on call 1 time per week and 1 time every 5th weekend.
• Location: O'Fallon, IL
• Sign on Bonus: Up to $10,000 for external candidates
• Compensation: Based on experience

Requirements

• Valid Illinois RN License
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel within service area

Education Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.

Experience Qualifications

• Prior experience in home health or hospice is preferred.
• 1 year acute nursing experience is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice is required.
• Wisconsin: RNs may practice with a valid multi-state RN license as outlined in the Nurse Licensure Compact rules.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
• Valid drivers license, automobile insurance and own transportation to make home visits is required.
