Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking an experienced ED RN for the Freestanding Emergency Department in Ashburn, VA. The role involves day shifts with rotating weekends, potential sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, and cross-facility coverage between Cornwall and Ashburn campuses.

We value experienced RNs with critical care exposure, who can provide high-quality patient care and coordinate with the healthcare team in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, in critical care settings if possible.
• Current BSN or ADN; if ADN, plan must be defined for BSN completion within 5 years.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as RN; BLS required; ACLS/PALS per unit if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination.
• Deliver patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Follow standards and pathways for care delivery and participate in additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

Inova Cornwall Campus & Inova Ashburn Campus- Freestanding Emergency Department is seeking an experienced ED Nurse. Full-Time, Days + Occasional Mids; 3-12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM; 11a-11p; 1p-1a) with rotating weekends. This position will float between Inova Cornwall FSED & Inova Ashburn FSED. This role is eligible for sign on bonus and relocation assistance.

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
• May perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Education: BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• License: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; For Critical Care units, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire; For Pediatric units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Two(2) plus years Emergency Department (ED) as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Other: Strong verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others. Proficient computer skills required
