Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Emergency Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This full-time day shift (6:45am–7:15pm) position includes five weekend shifts per six weeks, with sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified applicants.

As part of Inova, you will work in a 34-bed ER with board-certified physicians, participate in care coordination, and deliver patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• 1 year RN experience in critical care or 1 year in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship
• BSN or ADN; if ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years with plan
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN (or multi-state license)
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable clinical practice and care coordination through understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team
• Care for adult and pediatric patients in the emergency setting
• Collaborate with team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Follow standards, guidelines, and care pathways for delivery of care

ER Nurse Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
• Experienced behavioral health nurses and Overflow unit assist the team in caring for non-emergency patients
• Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
• Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Education:BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• License: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Two years ED experience strongly preferred
• Other: Proficient in English; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others; Proficient computer skills required.
