Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Float Pool RN for 6 x 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with rotating weekends/holidays. This full-time 0.9 FTE role offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus and diverse patient care across Med/Surg, Neuro/Ortho/Peds, Rehab, and Cardiac units.

Ideal candidates hold a Michigan RN license with an associate degree; BSN preferred, BLS-HCP required, ACLS/PALS preferred. Join a mission-driven team delivering exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• 1–2 years bedside RN experience; 2–4 years critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document care provided timely and accurately.
• Monitor patient status and communicate with care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain patient dignity.
• Float throughout departments to support staffing and patient care needs.
• Coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Provide age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education and advocacy.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and education; may cover other shifts or on-call as needed.

The Staffing Pool provides RN coverage across Med/Surg, Neuro/Ortho/Peds, Rehab, and Cardiac units. Staffing Pool RNs are highly adaptable nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and confidently support multiple clinical areas. How you'll contribute

A Float Pool RN who excels in this role:

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

Additional requirements include

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

1-2 years minimum bedside RN experience

ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care (preferred)

2-4 years critical care experience (preferred)
