Provides direct day-to-day care of patients and families.
Practices to the fullest extent of employee license in accordance with organizational policies. Under the direction of the Nurse Director, functions as a member of the Float Team to implement the patient's plan of care.

Tier 1 Float to: Nephrology/Oncology (NEON); 4N; Neuro Progressive Care Unit; Nursing Rehab; Telemetry.
Progressive Stepdown Unit (IMCU); Surgical Unit
NEON: BLS required
4 North: BLS required
NPCU: BLS required. ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
Rehab: BLS required
Telemetry: BLS required. ACLS within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
IMCU: BLS required. ACLS and NIH within 3 months of hire or transfer into the position.
Surgical: BLS required.

Meet all Tier 1 criteria and be competent to float to two (2) of the specialty areas: Cardiovascular Unit (CVICU); Critical Care Unit (CCU); Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU); Emergency Department (ED); Labor/Delivery/Recovery (L&D)
CVICU: BLS required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
CCU: BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
NICU: BLC required. ACLS, NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
ED: BLS required. ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), NIH and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position., ASLS and TNCC preferred.
LDRP: BLS required. ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring and Handle with Care within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
Nursery: BLS required. NRP within three months of hire or transfer into the position.
