Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Inpatient Rehabilitation on a full-time night schedule. The role includes a $20,000 sign-on bonus eligibility and a 3-12 hour shift pattern from 7p to 7a.

You will join a Lifepoint Health facility focused on patient-centered care and collaboration. Active NC RN license required; BSN preferred; BLS within 30 days; one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in North Carolina.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plan of care, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care provided.
  • Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team and family.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living.
  • Coordinate patient care across disciplines and with transfer/discharge needs.
  • Provide patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.

Essential Functions
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license.

Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Additional requirements include:

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

One year of experience preferred

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for a given population based upon age specific and cultural needs. This is done in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach embracing quality and safety.
Assures quality of care by measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital philosophies and standards of care set by North Carolina State Board of Nursing, , and other governing agency regulations.
Coordinates the delivery of patient care for the Rehab Unit, facilitates problem solving with staff members and communicates necessary issues to nursing administration and the Program Manager.
