Job summary

Pascack Valley Medical Center seeks an experienced ER Charge Registered Nurse for an evening shift. This full‑time role located in Westwood, NJ involves leadership in the emergency department and coordination of patient care with the nursing team and physicians.

The ideal candidate has an NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program, NJ RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and TNCC with at least 2 years of ER experience; familiarity with EHR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing.
• Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• 2 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
