Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking an evening shift, full-time Emergency Room Charge Registered Nurse in Westwood, NJ. You will oversee patient care, coordinate a team of caregivers, and ensure efficient unit operations under the Nurse Manager.

The role requires an NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program graduate, NJ RN license, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred). 2 years ER experience is required, with additional neonatal and ENCP qualifications a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing.
• Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS.
• PALS.
• TNCC
• 2 years of ER experience required.
• Preferred: NRP and ENCP certifications, CPR is assumed.

Responsibilities

• Care for a specific patient population to achieve outcomes.
• Direct and oversee care by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation and coordination.
• Coordinate patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Report to the Nurse Manager.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing
• Current valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC
• 2 years of experience required

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certification, with successful completion of
  certification within 6 months of hire
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENCP), with successful completion of
  Certification within 6 months of hire
• Experience with electronic health records is a plus

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
