Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a variable shift, PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join Cedar Creek Lake ER in Gun Barrel City, TX. You will provide high-quality nursing care across the patient lifespan and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires strong assessment skills, adherence to evidence-based protocols, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced ER environment. Texas RN licensure and required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS required by end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to patients from newborn to geriatric with a collaborative approach.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on assessment and nursing process.
• Delivers care in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy.

• UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate's degree in nursing (ADN)
• Must maintain current Texas RN License
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
