Job summary

Ardent is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift at Cedar Creek Lake ER in Gun Barrel City, TX. You’ll be part of a team delivering patient-centered care across all ages, guided by physician orders and established protocols.

Requirements include TX RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS certification as oriented. Experience in ER is preferred; strong teamwork and clinical judgment are essential.

Get to Know Your Team:

• UT Health Athens is a 127-bed facility, including a 24-hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10-bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand-alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

Responsibilities

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current Texas RN license
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
