Job summary

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is seeking a Night Shift ED Registered Nurse to join our 83-bed acute care facility in Harker Heights, TX. The role focuses on high-quality patient care in a busy Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate will hold a Texas RN license (or multi-state license), maintain BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC/NRP/TNCC certifications, and bring ED experience with strong teamwork and communication skills. A supportive, patient-centered environment is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license or multi-state license via Nurse Licensure Compact.
• BLS certification must be current; obtained within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NRP, and TNCC certifications are required on hire.
• Prefer 1+ year ED experience; strong patient safety and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care in the ED.
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patient, family and team.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and nursing leadership.

• Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

The nurse is responsible for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing a nursing care plan in coordination with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff as necessary, and communicating changes in the patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Completion of required education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• Completes formal triage education within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role, and prior to providing direct patient care, or ARC (American Red Cross) is required upon hire.
• Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire.
• Active PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification is required upon hire.
• Active NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 18 months of hire.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Preferred Job Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in an ED hospital setting.
• Experience with patient safety best practices.
• Demonstrates mastery of competencies.
• Ability to effectively utilize time management skills to quickly ascertain and identify the medical problem.
