Job summary

Aspen Valley Health is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The ED RN delivers direct patient care across all ages, following nursing process and AVH policies. You will educate patients/families, support treatment plans, and contribute to quality improvement.

Requires ADN and CO RN license (or ability to obtain), BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC; BSN/MSN and EPIC experience preferred; bilingual Spanish a plus. Rotating shifts with differential availability.

Qualifications

• ADN required for RN licensure in CO or ability to obtain prior to start date.
• Unrestricted RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain before starting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; may be obtained on hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred/enhanced qualifications.
• BSN/MSN and/or specialized emergency certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department for patients of all ages.
• Educate patients and families regarding plan of care and disease management.
• Support the medical staff treatment plan and participate in quality improvement.
• Demonstrate time management and professional communication in a fast-paced ED.

Job description

We are currently hiring for a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) within the Emergency Department department here at Aspen Valley Health.

Work Shift: Rotating - Other Compensation Range: $49.67 - $79.47 Night and weekend shift differentials up to $10 per hour! The compensation range listed is an estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on your qualifications including years of experience performing similar work, level of formal education in a relevant field of study, and any professional certifications related to the position.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS). May be obtained upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Emergency Nurses Association - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's (BSN) or Master's (MSN) in Nursing preferred.
• 2 years of emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse certification preferred.
• Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse certification preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Position Overview

The Emergency Department RN provides direct patient care for paitent of all ages using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with AVH policies, values, and mission. Works in support of the medical staff treatment plan. Educates patients and family around the plan of care and disease management. Actively supports the nursing philosophy by striving for excellence in patient care, professional development, interpersonal relations, time management, and continuous quality improvement.
