Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking an Evening RN for the Emergency Department to provide patient care in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment across multiple EDs. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, coordination, and evaluation of care for diverse patient populations.

Requirements include an Oklahoma RN license, BLS, and completion of Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program for new grads.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patients and adapt care for age groups and conditions.
• Perform nursing diagnoses and plan expected outcomes with the care team.
• Coordinate and implement care using evidence‑based practice and policy.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and discharge needs related to plan of care.
• Maintain professional practice and participate in continuous education.

• Evening differential $2.50/hr.
• Night differential $3.00/hr.
• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Our Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and provide stabilization and life‑saving care to 95,000+ patients each year. We operate as a Level III trauma center, take care of all medical emergencies, specialize in patients with active strokes and heart attacks, work with two dozen EMS agencies, and collaborate with ED physicians, residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Norman Regional ED has 45 beds, Norman Regional Nine has 12 beds and Moore ED has 13 beds. Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence‑based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re‑training for duration of employment.
• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
