Job summary

Norman Regional in Oklahoma is seeking a registered nurse for night shift in our busy Emergency Department. The RN will conduct assessment and reassessment, coordinate care with the team, and support bedside handoffs while maintaining ACLS and high standards of patient safety.

Candidates should have Diploma/ADN as minimum, with BSN preferred, and be licensed in Oklahoma. One year experience preferred; RN residency available for less experienced nurses.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess/reassess patients to determine care needs.
• Nursing diagnoses and outcomes: analyze assessment to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes.

• $31.31-$51.14/hr. based on previous work experience.
• Evening differential $2.50/hr.
• Night differential $3.00/hr.

Our Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and provide stabilization and life‑saving care to 95,000+ patients each year. We operate as a Level III trauma center, take care of all medical emergencies, specialize in patients with active strokes and heart attacks, work with two dozen EMS agencies, and collaborate with ED physicians, residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Norman Regional ED has 45 beds, Norman Regional Nine has 12 beds and Moore ED has 13 beds. Job Summary

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence‑based practice, regulations and policy.
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Professional Practice.
• Serves as department leader alongside and in absence of Nurse Manager.
• Maintain ACLS.
• RN will oversee and promote bedside handoff at shift changes.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• One year experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.

Licensure / Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained thru re‑training for duration of employment.
• RNs with less than one year experience are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
