Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department in Oklahoma. The role involves assessment, planning, and coordination of care in a fast-paced, trauma-capable ED that serves 95,000+ patients yearly.

You will perform nursing diagnoses, implement care, evaluate outcomes, and participate in discharge planning with a team including physicians, residents, PAs, and NPs. Evening shift 11a-11p; full-time Regular.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; maintained through employment.

Responsibilities

• Assessment/reassessment of health care needs; involve patient, family and other providers as appropriate.
• Nursing diagnosis and outcomes planning with team involvement.
• Implementation and coordination of care using evidence-based practice and policies.
• Evaluation of patient outcomes and discharge planning using resources as needed.
• Professional nursing practice in a fast-paced ED setting.

Compensation / Benefits

• $27.84-$45.46/hr. based on previous work experience.


• Evening differential $2.50/hr.


• Night differential $3.00/hr.


• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Our Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and provide stabilization and life‑saving care to 95,000+ patients each year. We operate as a Level III trauma center, take care of all medical emergencies, specialize in patients with active strokes and heart attacks, work with two dozen EMS agencies, and collaborate with ED physicians, residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Norman Regional ED has 45 beds, Norman Regional Nine has 12 beds and Moore ED has 13 beds. Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate


• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.


• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence‑based practice, regulations and policy


• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.


• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re‑training for duration of employment.


• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
