Job summary

Norman Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Departments that operate 24/7, with Level III trauma designation and high patient volumes. The role focuses on stabilization, patient assessment, and collaborative care in a fast-paced environment.

Seeking candidates with RN licensure in Oklahoma, BLS certification, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. New grads may participate in the Nurse Residency Program.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Experience in healthcare settings preferred.
• Current Oklahoma RN license.
• BLS required; retraining as needed.
• Nurse Residency Program for new grads may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess patient health needs across age groups.

Departmental Overview

Our Emergency Departments operate 24/7 and provide stabilization and life‑saving care to 95,000+ patients each year. We operate as a Level III trauma center, take care of all medical emergencies, specialize in patients with active strokes and heart attacks, work with two dozen EMS agencies, and collaborate with ED physicians, residents, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Norman Regional ED has 45 beds, Norman Regional Nine has 12 beds and Moore ED has 13 beds. We are looking for highly motivated individuals ready for a fast‑paced environment who are able to deliver the best patient experience to our customers, function well in a dynamic team, and represent our health system well.

Compensation / Benefits

• $27.84-$45.46/hr. based on previous work experience.
• Evening differential $2.50/hr.
• Night differential $3.00/hr.
• Weekend differential $3.00/hr.

Job Summary

RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Assessment/reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
• Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current evidence-based practice, regulations and policy
• Evaluation - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions.
• Evaluates discharge needs related to plan of care utilizing resources as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare field preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
• New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
