Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on rotating nights with weekend coverage and self-scheduling. You will administer medications, monitor patients, document care, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe transitions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current RN license in Kentucky or active multistate license.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License

• Current RN license in state of Kentucky or a current active multistate license
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
