Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY, is hiring an ICU RN for day shifts with rotating weekends. The position emphasizes direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU environment, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires an RN license in Kentucky and an Associate's degree in nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A $15,000 commitment bonus is offered for a two-year commitment. Lifepoint Health supports education and career growth.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice (Kentucky) and BCLS; ACLS, PALS preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medications and treatments.
• Documents patient care provided and monitors patient condition.
• Communicates patient status to care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers and discharges.
• Educates patients and families appropriate to age and condition.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

License/ Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• BCLS required
• ACLS,
• PALS,
• Handle with Care preferred.
