Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking an RN to join the Clinical Decision Unit. This 8-bed CDU offers 12-hour night shifts, self-scheduling, and a team-focused culture where professional growth is encouraged.

You will perform patient assessments, initiate nursing interventions, document care, and support interdisciplinary care plans. Active NC RN license, BLS, ACLS/PALS within deadlines, and CDU/ICU experience preferred are required.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact; relocate requires PSOR update.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year CDU experience required.
• Two years ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate patient assessments and identify needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Document medical necessity timely in the chart.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Complete timely QI assessments.

How You'll Contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What We're Looking For

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of CDU experience required.
• At least two years of ICU experience preferred.
