Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU). You will provide high-acuity care on a 12-bed unit with 12-hour night shifts and collaborate with a skilled team to monitor and care for patients requiring close observation.

The role requires a NC RN license, BLS within 30 days, ACLS and PALS within six months, and 1 year of acute hospital RN experience; IMCU experience 1-2 years preferred.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of Acute Hospital RN experience required.
• One to two years of IMCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of Acute Hospital RN experience required.
• One to two years of IMCU experience preferred.
