Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) on a full-time basis. The 8-bed CDU features 12-hour night shifts, self-scheduling, and a $20,000 commitment-incentive bonus.

You will assess patients, implement interventions, and contribute to interdisciplinary care planning. NC RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required within specified timelines; CDU experience is essential with ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license in NC; single-state or compact.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year CDU experience required.
• At least two years ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation in the medical record for medical necessity.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of CDU experience required.

At least two years of ICU experience preferred.
