Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical ICU (MICU) on night shifts. The 8-bed unit offers 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling, strong teamwork, and engaged leadership to support your success.

You will assess patients, initiate nursing interventions, document care accurately, contribute to interdisciplinary care plans, and perform quality assessments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license
• BSN preferred but not required
• BLS within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire
• 1–2 years IMCU/ICU experience preferred

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Frye Regional Medical Center is an 8-bed unit known for its exceptional teamwork, supportive culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One to two years of IMCU or ICU experience required.
