Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CDU: 8-bed unit, 12-hour night shifts, and self-scheduling. You’ll assess patients, initiate nursing interventions, and contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.

Ideal candidates have NC RN license (compact ok), BLS and ACLS/PALS timelines, and CDU/ICU experience. The hospital offers comprehensive benefits, tuition assistance, loan repayment and a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of CDU experience required; ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

How you’ll contribute

What we’re looking for

• Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of CDU experience required.
• At least two years of ICU experience preferred.
