Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the CCU on a PRN Days schedule.

As part of a skilled critical care team, you will perform assessments, initiate interventions, document care, and develop individualized care plans for critically ill patients.

Applicants must hold an RN license, have an associate or bachelor's degree in nursing, and complete BLS within 30 days, ACLS/PALS within six months; residency for new grads is offered.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred; new grads encouraged and supported through a 1 year residency program.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The CCU team consists of highly skilled critical care nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary support staff dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. Services include hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, cardiac drips, emergency response stabilization, and post-intensive procedural care. The unit is committed to promoting optimal patient outcomes while supporting patients and families through critical and complex healthcare situations.

What we're looking for
