Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for the CCU. This full-time, day-shift role is in-person and focused on delivering high-quality critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

As a CCU RN, you will perform thorough patient assessments, execute care plans, document meticulously, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position supports professional growth and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply and supported through a 1-year residency program.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

The CCU team consists of highly skilled critical care nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary support staff dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence‑based care. Services include hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, cardiac drips, emergency response stabilization, and post‑intensive procedural care. The unit is committed to promoting optimal patient outcomes while supporting patients and families through critical and complex healthcare situations.

A Registered Nurse, RNwho excels in this role:

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred new grads encouraged to apply and will be supported through our 1 year residency program
• ASLS certification preferred
