Job summary

DLP Cardiac Partners, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cath Lab team in Morganton, NC. The role involves circulating, monitoring and scrubbing during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures, with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requires NC RN license (compact allowed), BLS, and ACLS within 90 days. Two years of critical care or cath lab experience and proficiency with EKGs/dysrhythmias are essential for success

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of critical care or cardiac catheterization experience
• Ability to read EKGs and recognize dysrhythmias
• Currently licensed RN in NC or compact state with an unencumbered license
• BLS required; ACLS required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Circulate, monitor and/or scrub diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures
• Assess patients and identify nursing needs to plan care
• Provide age-appropriate care and document medical necessity in the patient record
• Contribute to interdisciplinary care planning and care plan revisions
• Perform timely QI assessments and maintain high-quality patient-centered care
• Assist cardiologist during procedures and ensure patient safety throughout

About our team

DLP Cardiac Partners has both Fixed Hospital-Based Labs as well as Mobile Units in multiple North Carolina locations. We have Fixed Hosptial-Based Labs in Raleigh, Morganton, Henderson, Hendersonville and Rutherfordton. We also have our Mobile Units which are based out of Charlotte and Whiteville. This dynamic position is responsible for assisting the cardiologist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions on adult patients. Candidate must be focused on high quality patient centered care through assessment and management of cardiac patients with good communication and interpersonal skills. Registered nurse will be able to circulate, monitor and/or scrub diagnostic and interventional procedures as well as some pre and post care.

How you will contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
