AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the PCU Cardiovascular unit. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and revise individualized care plans, and administer medications per physician orders.

The role requires EKG competency, English fluency, and strong teamwork. It offers a full-time daytime schedule with a focus on high-quality patient care in a supportive environment.

Job Description:

Unit Highlights:

• PCU Cardiovascular (GT8) is a designated step-down unit for patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgical procedures including coronary bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Pericardial window, device explanation and laser lead extraction. We also care for thoracic surgeries including esophagogastrostomy, lung resection, as well as thoracic and abdominal aneurysm repairs.

Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours a week

Shift: Days, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

Location: 601 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

• ACLS [Required]
