AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for unit GT10 on the night shift. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient education, and close collaboration with the care team.

Required RN license and BLS CPR, with a preferred Bachelor's in Nursing and 1+ year acute care experience. This is a full-time night-shift opportunity on a 40-bed Neurosurgical unit facing diverse neuro cases.

Qualifications

• Must have RN licensure and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across physiological and psychosocial domains.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and update as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate and optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the medical record.

Job Description

Unit Highlights:

• PCU Neurosurgical (GT10) is a 40-bed progressive care unit that cares for some of the most unique neuro cases. Our patient population is unique, and each case is different in the way we provide care. We work with surgical drains, incisions, shunts, lumbar drains, spinal cord stimulators, lumbar surgeries, craniotomies, and more.

Schedule:

FT, 36 hours per week

Shift:

Nights, 3 12-hour shifts - 7:00 pm – 7:00 am

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
