AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator for the Cardiac PCU to lead nursing education, research, and evidence-based practice. The role focuses on clinical inquiry, change agent activities, and advancing the seven roles of the NPD practitioner.

The Cardiac PCU is a fast paced 40-bed ICU step down unit which cares for a diverse, and acutely ill patient population. We specialize in the treatment of patients requiring advanced heart failure therapies such as Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs), artificial hearts and heart transplantation. We also care for patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass, valve repairs, heart catheterizations, pacemaker implantation, and AICD implantation. Patient care model: Registered Nurses & Patient Care Technicians/Nurse Technicians. Ratios: 4-5 patients per 1 RN based on acuity & 10-13 patients per 1 PCT/NT based on acuity Our leadership team is highly engaged and works closely with the frontline staff. We encourage great relationships with our physician team and other ancillary departments. Our Cardiac PCU is fortunate to have a specialized group of physicians and mid-level providers that have close working relationships with the nursing and leadership team.
