Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health department at Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah. This role focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care across neonatal to geriatric patients and requires strong critical thinking and teamwork.

The RN will perform plan-of-care interventions, document care, and coordinate with the care team for transfers and discharges. BLS, ACLS and PALS are required, with one year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition with the care team.
• Coordinates transfer, discharge, referrals and psychosocial support needs.
• Educates patient and family according to age, culture, and condition.
• Assists with activities of daily living and supports emotional well-being.
• Identifies nursing interventions and initiates appropriate actions.
• Ensures accurate documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
• Maintains interdisciplinary care plans and completes QA assessments.

How You'll Contribute As a RN

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

Required Skills

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• ACLS and PALS are required.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.
