Job summary

Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah is seeking a registered nurse for the Behavioral Health department. The role focuses on delivering compassionate patient care, coordinating with the care team, and ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will document care, administer medications, perform assessments, and support patients and families through education and discharge planning. Utah RN license and required certifications are expected.

Qualifications

  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • ACLS and PALS are required.
  • One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfer and discharge planning.
  • Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and condition.
  • Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
  • Performs accurate patient assessments and initiates nursing interventions.
  • Maintains timely documentation of medical necessity in the record.
  • Completes and revises the interdisciplinary care plan for each patient.
  • Performs timely and accurateQI assessments.

Required Skills

Essential Functions
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

  • Documents patient care given.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments andidentifiespatient needs

  • Identifiesandinitiatesappropriate nursinginterventions

  • Provides careappropriate tocondition and age of the patient

  • Performstimelyandappropriate documentationrelating to medical necessity in the medical record

  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

  • PerformstimelyandaccurateQI assessments

Whatwe'relooking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license andpossessanassociate'sdegree from an accredited nursing school.Additionalrequirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification isrequired.
