Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute Care Float Pool. This part-time night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; days vary) is based in Leesburg, VA.

The RN will deliver high-quality assessments, planning and coordination of care while supporting patients and families through the continuum of care. The ideal candidate holds a BSN, has 2+ years of critical care experience, and is licensed in Virginia or eligible for licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• 2+ years of critical care experience preferred.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and interprets data.
• Formulates and updates care plans based on assessments.
• Supports patients and families through hospitalization and care decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights and coordinates with the care team.
• Documents patient care activities per standards and supports accuracy of records.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to meet patient outcomes.
• Mentors other staff and serves as a clinical resource.
• Pursues ongoing professional development with at least six hours of continuing education.

Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
• Supports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation
• Evaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiatives
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomes
• Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members
• Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • If RNs have an Associate’s Degree within 2 years of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1. Identify which school they plan to attend, 2. Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion; 3. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses, and4. Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Experience: Experience: 2+ years of critical care RN experience preferred
• Licensure:Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Certifications:BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association) & NIHSS
