Job summary

Wathena Healthcare & Rehab Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver exceptional nursing care to our residents and to support a compassionate, professional team. You will collaborate with a Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nursing and Administrator to ensure high-quality care.

The role emphasizes maintaining patient rights, administering medications, and providing skilled nursing services in a supportive facility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing the clinical care and quality of life of our residents. And ensuring that all resident rights are protected.
  • Preparing and administering medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Checking all residents daily to ensure that prescribed treatment is being properly administered by nursing personnel/assistants and to evaluate their physical and emotional status.
  • Keeping the RN Supervisor informed about the status of residents, staff and related matters.
  • Implementing recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or the Director of Nurses.
  • Administering professional services such as: catheterization, tube feeding, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy and drainage bags, taking blood, sputum, and urine specimens, etc., as established by the facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Completing all Registered Nurse RN required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident’s admission, discharge, transfer, etc. File in the resident’s chart and/or forward to the appropriate department.
  • Giving and receiving nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Investigating complaints and grievances and making necessary oral/written reports to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
  • Presenting in a professional image to residents and families through dress, behavior and speech.
  • Adhering to our policies and standards.
