Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a registered nurse for a 36-hour day/evening rotating position.

This role offers 3-12 hour shifts or 1-12 hour and 3-8 hour shifts, with every other weekend and every other holiday. You’ll provide direct nursing care, coordinate patient care, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds within a Magnet-designated hospital that values professional growth and family-friendly benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Develops, implements and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds. Demonstrates knowledge of patients' condition and ability to provide input to meet outcomes.

Education
