Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour day/evening rotating position with 3-12 hour shifts or a combination of 12 and 8 hour shifts.

Expect every other weekend and every other holiday to maintain work-life balance. You will provide direct nursing care per established policies, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support discharge planning while developing individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
• Delegates care to other nursing staff according to education and expertise.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and contributes to desired outcomes.
• Adheres to ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and ethics.
• Develops, implements and revises care plans.
• Participates in professional growth activities and related duties.
