JOB DESCRIPTION

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring high-quality nursing care. The RN manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support services. The RN’s role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN:

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers
• Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities

Qualifications:

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduation from a school of nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required
