Henry Ford Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Regional Float Med/Surg role based in Detroit. This contract position requires floating to at least three hospital locations and night shifts, offering flexible scheduling and a patient-centric approach within a nationally recognized health system.

You will deliver direct care across medical and surgical units, assess patients, and collaborate with the care team to implement evidence-based plans while maintaining high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Two to three (2-3) years of recent clinical nursing experience in medical and surgical settings.
• Willingness and ability to float to multiple facility locations.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing and current BLS.
• Current TB screening and required vaccinations (including flu).

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care across multiple medical and surgical units, adapting nursing practices to diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and identify potential complications through clinical observation and analysis of patient-specific data.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based nursing care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Provide professional nursing services across a broad spectrum of clinical situations and patient acuity levels.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
• Maintain flexibility to float to multiple facility locations to meet staffing needs.

GENERAL SUMMARY:Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse demonstrates advanced clinical competency in managing complex nursing situations across diverse patient populations. This role requires the ability to deliver comprehensive nursing interventions in varied clinical settings, with particular emphasis on proactive patient assessment and early identification of clinical changes. The successful candidate will synthesize patient data to anticipate care needs and implement evidence‑based nursing interventions before significant changes in patient condition occur.
