Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's Post Anesthesia Care Unit is seeking a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical setting, following the SMHCS nursing model and ANA standards.

The role requires graduating from an accredited nursing program, BSN within the specified timeframe, PACU/ER/ICU experience, PALS within one year, and basic computer skills. ACLS/BLS licenses and FL RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN required within specified timeframe.
• Completion of Annual Orthopedic education requirements upon hire and annually.
• Previous PACU, ER, or ICU experience.
• PALS certification within 1 year of hire.
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045)
• Require successful completion of Annual Orthopedic education requirements upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education plan.
• Require previous PACU, ER, or ICU experience.
• Require Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of hire.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Preferred Education

BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Required License and Certs

• ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
• FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
