Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a registered nurse for the Stepdown department. The role provides professional nursing care in an acute clinical setting, guided by the SMHCS practice model and ANA standards.

Required include a nursing degree, Florida RN license, BLS/CPR, ACLS within required timelines, NIHSS certification within specified windows, and basic computer skills. BSN strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; for new hires after 2012, BSN required within specified timeframe as per policy.
• ACLS within 6 months for experienced RNs or 1 year for new graduates and maintained throughout employment.
• NIHSS certification within 90 days for experienced RNs and within six months for new grads.
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Required Qualifications

• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire for experienced RN or one (1) year for new graduate and maintain throughout employment.
• Require National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within (90) days of employment for experienced RNs and within six (6) months of employment for new grad RNs.
• Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Preferred Education

• BSN: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
