The Infection Preventionist (IP) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for all elements of the nursing process when providing and supervising infection control practices. They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate infection control practices based on age-specific components. The RN assumes responsibility for coordinating care focused on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. They follow procedures per established policies and guidelines and influence care outcomes by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. The RN demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to managing complex infection control situations.
